OBE Award for Barry

The Queen awards Barry the OBE
Barry was delighted to have been awarded the OBE in April for his services to the country. The formal presentation took place on 3 November at Buckingham Place in the presence of the Queen.
Barry was nominated by the Ministry of Defence in the Queens’s Birthday Honours List for his many years of work repatriating all service personnel who have died serving their country all over the world but predominately in Iraq and Afghanistan.
“I am truly honoured to receive the award” he said, “but I am very grateful to all the staff for their dedication. I have led the training and administration of the work but they are prepared to work all hours to get the job done in order to bring the deceased home to their families. They are always respectful and proactive and do wonderful things, even driving through the night were necessary.”
