Graduation Management Admission test is a computer based test presented by Graduate Management Admission Council for the candidates intended to pursue further education in business management field. Most of the colleges and Universities worldwide have GMAT score as their eligibility requirement for admission in their Master programs. GMAT is intended to test the aptitude of the candidates for business management field to help business universities sort out candidates for admission purpose. GMAT is designed to assess candidate's logic, critical reasoning, verbal and analytical skills of a particular situation. GMAT is taken in English only. Now GMAT is taken worldwide and multiple time in a year. A good GMAT score can cover up candidate's average college record for further study.
GMAT test is computer based nowadays but still a standardized version is available. Test Centers are available worldwide for standardized GMAT managed by Graduate Management Admission Council. Registration for standard GMAT can be performed with a registered recruiter of GMAC available in nearby region.
Graduate Record Examination (GRE), a general test for admission in most universities Master programs conducted by ETS.
The main objectives of the certification are:

Computerized GMAT exam is conducted multiple times in a year. To appear in GMAT exam the candidate has to register with Graduate Management Admission Council by paying fee of the exam. Candidates with disabilities are provided with accommodations by Graduate management admission council on request. After registration a preparation time is provided to the candidate up to the exam date. GMAT preparation books and centers are available worldwide for preparation help.
Computer based GMAT comprises four timed exam sections including Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative and Verbal Section. Time limit for completing whole exam is three and half hour. In Analytical writing assessment section the candidate have to analyze an argument after reading a given essay and provide a critique to that argument with reasoning. Thirty minute time is provided to attempt AWA Section. In Integrated Reasoning section the question are of multiple types including table analysis, graphic interpretation, two part analysis and Multi source reasoning. There are 12 questions which have to be attempted in 30 minutes. The quantitative section measures the quantitative reasoning skill by interpreting and analyzing the question data in 75 minutes by attempting 37 questions. The verbal section is based on reading comprehension type questions, critical reasoning and sentence correction using English grammar rules. A total of 75 minutes are provided to solve 41 verbal section questions.
GMAT is offered multiple times in a year and candidate can reappear to improve scores at any time but not less than 31 days after the last attempt. GMAT scores are valid till five years from the test date and there is no age limit for taking GMAT.
There are no official prerequisites for taking GMAT. GMAT is designed for under graduate students and Bachelor Degree holders who intend to further pursue their education in Business management field e.g. MBA. Candidate's English proficiency is presumed.
